Stack's Bowers September 2024 Collector's Choice sale, lot 75247

This specimen was lot 75247 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $105. The catalog description[1] noted, "JAPAN. 10 Sen, Year 4 (1915). Osaka Mint. Yoshihito (Taisho). NGC MS-66. This piece offers satiny luster with white argent color and an elevated state of preservation. Attractive." This type, roughly equal to a dime, was struck 1913-17 and is common in all grades. The superseding type (KM Y45), issued 1920-26, was copper-nickel.
