This specimen was lot 23108 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $2,640. The catalog description[1] noted, "JAPAN. Koban (1 Ryo), ND (1860-67). Manen Era. PCGS AU-58 Gold Shield. An attractive, well stamped koban with rich golden color. A lovely problem free example far nice than normally encountered." We wonder where the SCWC got the mintage figure reported here.
