This specimen was lot 34619 in Heritage sale 3067 (Long Beach, September 2018), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "Japan: Bunsei Shu ND (1829-37) MS64 PCGS. Scarce and exceedingly desirable in this premium condition. With lustrous fields and a aura of toning throughout that acts to dramatically highlight the bold script." We wonder where the SCWC obtained the mintage figure given here.
Recorded mintage: 139,914,768.
Specification: 2.63 g, 0.989 fine silver.
