This design was originally a copper-nickel coin minted 1969-89. The crocodile is from the crest of the national arms. The Franklin mint produced proofs 1971-84. The coin was converted to nickel plated steel and struck in that form 1990-93. The denomination has not been issued since. As of December 2023, US$1 = 156 Jamaican dollars.
Recorded mintage: unknown but common.
Specification: 2.80 g, nickel plated steel, 19.4 mm diameter.
