Stephen Album sale 50, lot 2533

This specimen was lot 2533 in Stephen Album sale 50 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $102. The catalog description[1] noted, "JAIPUR: Man Singh II, 1922-1949, AR rupee, 19(22) year 1, scarce one year type, a lovely example, PCGS graded MS63." This type has a low catalog value. The date is usually off the flan. The Indian princely state of Jaipur fell under British protection in 1818 and survived until 1949, when all the princes were deposed by the government of the newly independent republic.
