This specimen was lot 3607 in Goldberg sale 84 (Los Angeles, January 2015), where it sold for $705. The catalog description[1] noted, "Ivory Coast. 50 Francs, 1966. One year type. NGC graded Proof 67 Ultra Cameo." The coinage of the African country of Ivory Coast is scanty, comprising one silver coin and four gold coins, all dated 1966. The country uses the CFA franc for its ordinary transactions. President-for-life Felix Houphouet-Boigny ruled 1960-93.
