This specimen was lot 3424 in Goldberg sale 78 (Los Angeles, January 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Italy. Lira, 1900-R. Umberto I. NGC graded Uncirculated, Details (Surface Hairlines)." This type was struck at the Rome mint 1883-86, 1892 and 1899-1900 and is common in circulated condition. The 1887-M lira from Milan is by far the commonest date.

Recorded mintage: 318,000.

Specification: 5 g, 0.835 fine silver, .134 troy oz ASW.
