This specimen was lot 1063 in Stephen Album internet sale 28 (Santa Rosa, CA, July 2024), where it sold for $36. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY: Umberto I, 1878-1900, AE centesimo, 1900-R, a lovely example, PCGS graded MS63 BN." Between 1861 and 1867, the government struck 190 million one centesimo pieces. It was not until 1895 that more were needed and this type was struck 1895-1900. This is a common date. King Umberto was assassinated by an anarchist in 1900. This denomination was struck to this standard until 1918, when the stress of wartime inflation forced the government to terminate production, never to resume.
