This specimen was lot 31003 in Heritage sale 3081 (New York, January 2020), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Italy: Umberto I gold 100 Lire 1882-R AU Details (Cleaned) NGC, Rome mint. A few scattered marks that are the result of some light wiping some time ago, this coin is otherwise attractive with bold details on the portrait of the king." This rare type is listed for five dates during 1880-91. It was struck to the standard of a French hundred francs d'or.
