The first specimen was lot 1561 in Sincona sale 66 (Zürich, October 2020), where it sold for 325 CHF (about US$428 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ITALY | Königreich | misc. Vittorio Emanuele II. 1861-1878. 20 Lire 1876 R, Roma. Vorzüglich-FDC. Kleiner Randfehler. (kingdom of Italy, Victor Emanuel II, 1861-78, twenty lire of 1876, Rome mint. Extremely fine-uncirculated, Minor edge flaw.)"

The second specimen was lot 641 in Sincona sale 69 (Zürich, May 2021), where it sold for 475 CHF (about US$631 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,

"ITALY | Königreich, Vittorio Emanuele II. 1861-1878. 20 Lire 1876 R, Roma. PCGS MS64."

It is struck to the same standard as the contemporary French twenty francs. This type was struck in Turin (1861-70), Rome (1870-78) and Milan (1872-74) during the reign of Victorio Emanuele II of Italy (1861-78).

Recorded mintage: 107,728, a common date.

Specification: 6.45 grams, 0.900 fine gold, .186 troy oz AGW, this specimen 6.42 g.
