This type was struck in large quantities at the Bologna, Naples and Milan (shown here) mints 1861-62 and 1867 during the reign of Victorio Emanuele II of Italy. It is struck to the same standard as the contemporary French five centimes. The next issue of this denomination would be in 1895.
Recorded mintage: 46,000,000 (Naples) plus 24,000,000 (Milan).
Specification: 5 g, bronze, 25 mm diameter.
