This specimen was lot 2453 in Sincona sale 18 (Zürich, May 2014), where it sold for CHF 280 (about US$369 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"20 Lire 1865. Turin. Gutes vorzüglich. (kingdom of Italy, Victor Emanuel II, twenty lire of 1865, Turin mint, good extremely fine.)"
This specimen is one of a series struck 1861-70 at the Turin mint during the reign of Victorio Emanuele II of Italy (1861-78). It is struck to the same standard as the contemporary French twenty francs. This type was also struck in Rome (1870-78) and Milan (1872-74).
