This specimen was lot 1387 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2022), where it sold for $2,040. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRELAND. Shilling, 1561. Dublin Mint; mm: Harp. Elizabeth I. PCGS EF-45. Remarkably choice for the issue, this piece exhibits a bold strike (and a tremendous portrait of Elizabeth I!) on a round flan of good quality with no marks of noteworthiness over the surfaces. A thin ring of blue tone at the edges adds additional character to this example that is only surpassed by a sing[l]e AU-50 in the PCGS population report."
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 4.65 g, 0.917 fine silver, 21 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: S-6505.
