This specimen was lot 1281 in Stephen Album sale 45 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2023), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN: Muhammad Reza Shah, 1941-1979, AV pahlavi, SH1330, low relief (high relief is type KM-1150), NGC graded MS64." This type, struck SH 1330-1353 during the reign of Muhammed Reza Shah (r. 1941-79), was minted to the standard of a British sovereign. The relief was lowered in 1951 to reduce persistent striking weakness; the two varieties are priced the same for the date. The coins generally trade as bullion coins.

Specification: 8.13 g, 0.900 fine gold.
