This specimen was lot 47734 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $600. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. Qajar Dynasty. Toman, AH 1305 (1887/8). Tehran Mint. Nasir al-Din Shah. NGC AU-58. Double die obverse. From the Genden Collection." This type was struck AH 1297-1313 plus various bungled dates and is not rare. Another toman with a lion obverse (KM 1108) was struck in AH 1305 for the Nowruz (New Year).
