This specimen was lot 2441 in Stephen Album sale 38 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2020), where it sold for $714. The catalog description[1] noted, "QAJAR: Muhammad Shah, 1837-1848, AR qiran, Tehran, AH1263, lion & sun (type E), toned with light iridescence, a lovely example of late hammered coinage with hand-cut reeding on edge, VF to EF." The word qiran is translated as kran in the SCWC. This type was struck AH1258-1263 at many mints. This example realized fourteen times the catalog value.
