This specimen was lot 76497 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $85. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. Qajar Dynasy. 1/2 Kran, AH 1247 (1831/32). Shiraz Mint. Fath 'Ali Shah. NGC AU-58. The sole finest graded specimen yet holdered by NGC, the present example is nicely lustrous, with charming eye appeal and much retained allure." The Shiraz mint struck this "type E" half kran AH 1246-1248, one of eight mints to do so. Ten kran made a toman.
