This specimen was lot 119 in Sincona sale 88 (Zürich, May 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"IRAN, Zand Dynasty, Karim Khan, 1166-1193 AH (1753-1779). 2 Abbasi 1182 AH (1768), Shiraz Mint. Fast vorzüglich, Kleiner Randfehler, Leicht gereinigt; About extremely fine. Minor edge flaw. Lightly cleaned. Purchased from M. Abgarians, Glendale, California, in 1987."
Karim Khan was the founder and the only competent ruler of the Zands. This denomination was struck at Iravan, Isfahan (shown here, listed for AH 1181-1184, 1190), Kashan, Kirman, Mazandaran, Qazvin, Rasht, Shiraz, Tabriz, Tehran and Yazd.
