This specimen was lot 2260 in Stephen Album sale 50 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "SAFAVID: Isma'il I, 1501-1524, AR shahi, Khwaf, ND, extremely rare mint in Quhistan province, now spelled Khaf on Wikipedia; style similar to the AH916 issue of Herat, VF. Khaf is today a city of about 34,000 inhabitants. There are two examples of Khaf filed on Zeno, both of Isma'il, but different design types."
