This specimen was issued by India 1982-97. This specimen is from the Bombay mint (note the diamond below the date). This denomination was struck simultaneously with a copper-nickel twenty-five paise. The denomination was not struck after 1997, inflation having rendered it worthless.
Recorded mintage: 125,048,000 plus more from Calcutta and Hyderabad.
Specification: 2.15 g, aluminum, 26 mm diameter.
