Stack's Bowers September 2024 Collector's Choice sale, lot 75090

This specimen was lot 75090 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. 1/4 Anna, 1899-(C). Calcutta Mint. Victoria. NGC MS-63 Red. This handsome Choice example shines with bright red freshness accented by a few flecks of tone." This type was struck fairly steadily 1877-1901 but the Bombay mint contributed 1877, 1882-89 only.

Recorded mintage: 36,896,000, a common date.

Specification: 6.14 g, copper, 25.18 mm diameter.
