Stack's Bowers 2025 NYINC sale, lot 38687

This specimen was lot 38687 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $85. The catalog description^[1] noted, "INDIA. 1/4 Anna, 1894-(C). Calcutta Mint. Victoria. NGC MS-64 Red." This type was struck fairly steadily 1877-1901 but the Bombay mint contributed 1877, 1882-89 only.

Recorded mintage: 45,744,000 plus proofs and restrikes.

Specification: 6.14 g, copper, 25.18 mm diameter.
