Iceland 1977 10 kronur rev GH.jpg

This type was struck for the republic of Iceland in 1967-80. The inflation of the 1960's and 1970's killed off the smaller denominations (one eyrir and five aurar in 1966, twenty-five aurar in 1967, ten aurar in 1974). New denominations were introduced, the fifty kronur in 1970, the five kronur in 1969 and this ten kronur in 1967. In 1981, the krona was reformed and 100 old krona = 1 new krona.

Recorded mintage: 2,000,000.

Specification: 6.52 g, copper-nickel, 25 mm diameter, reeded edge.

Catalog reference: KM 15.
