This specimen was lot 2881 in Stephen Album sale 41 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2021), where it sold for $108. The catalog description[1] noted, "HUNGARY: Peoples Republic, AR 500 forint, 1980-BP, XIII Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, figure skaters, mintage of only 1,500 pieces, NGC graded Proof 65 Ultra Cameo, S." This was the first issue of this denomination since the 500 forint struck for Semmelweis in 1968.
Recorded mintage: 12,500 proofs + 1,500 pieforts.
