Jean Elsen sale 135, lot 1516

This specimen was lot 1516 in Jean Elsen sale 135 (Brussels, December 2017), where it sold for €250 (about US$346 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HONGRIE, François Joseph Ier (1848-1916), AV 20 korona, 1895KB, Kremnitz. presque Superbe. (kingdom of Hungary, Francis Joseph I, 1848-1916, gold twenty coronas of 1895, Kremnitz mint. about Extremely Fine.)"

This type, issued 1892-1915, superseded the eight forint and was about 5% heavier.

Recorded mintage: 1,935,250.

Specification: 6.775 g, 0.900 fine gold, .196 troy oz AGW, 21 mm diameter.
