Hungary 1769-K EVM D 30 krajczar
This specimen was lot 4630 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €1,800 (about US$2,362 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Maria Theresia, 1740-1780. 30 Kreuzer 1769, K/EVM-D, Kremnitz. In US-Plastikholder der NGC mit der Bewertung MS 62 (6643509-014). Selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. Prachtexemplar. Herrliche Patina, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Austria, Maria Theresia, 1740-80, thirty kreuzer of 1769, Kremnitz mint. Graded NGC MS-62, scarce in this quality, cabinet example, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
This type was struck 1768-72 and is common, more common than the tiny reported mintage would indicate. Thirty kreuzer was one quarter of a convention thaler or half a gulden.
Recorded mintage: 3,521 (a misprint for 3,521,000?).
Specification: 7.02 g, 0.833 fine silver, this specimen 6.98 g.
