Hungary 1652-KB thaler Dav-3198
This specimen was lot 4764 in Künker sale 441 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €340 (about US$468 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Ferdinand III., 1625-1637-1657. Reichstaler 1652 KB, Kremnitz. Henkelspur, Felder geglättet, sehr schön. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand III, 1637-57, thaler of 1652, Kremnitz mint. Mount mark, fields smoothed, very fine.)"
This type was struck without change 1637-61, rendering it one of the more common thalers of the period. The SCWC correctly catalogs this under Hungary, not Austria. Hungary in 1652 was partitioned between the Austrians and the Turks and was not part of the Empire.
