This specimen was lot 3226 in Sincona Auction 101 (Zürich, October 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"RDR / ÖSTERREICH Ferdinand III. 1637-1657. Taler 1649 KB, Kremnitz. Gutes sehr schön. Feine Patina. Kaum sichtbare Henkelspur. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand III, 1637-57, thaler of 1649, Kremnitz mint. Good Very Fine, Nicely toned, Barely visible mount mark.)"
This type was struck 1637-61 and is surprisingly expensive considering the many years of production. Hungary in 1648 was partitioned between Austria, Turkey and Transylvania and was not part of the Empire.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: silver, this specimen 28.20 g.
