This specimen was lot 32097 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $4,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "HUNGARY. St. George/Christ & Apostles Gold Medal of 2 Ducats Weight, ND (1690-1751). Kremnica Mint. NGC AU-58. By Jeremias Roth. Obverse: St. George on horse rearing right, spearing dragon below; Reverse: Christ and the Apostles in ship upon tempestuous seas. A classic issue that spanned centuries, this golden multiple presents a pleasing strike, alluring color, and almost no signs of wear." The Kremnitz ducats of Christian Hermann Roth and his heirs were struck during the last half of the seventeenth century and the first half of the eighteenth century in sizes ranging from half a ducat up to 100 ducats. The SCWC does not list them, dismissing them as medals, but they are mentioned in Friedberg.
