Honan Province in the south east of China began coin production in 1647. A mint for struck coinage began operation in 1905.
The specimen shown was lot 60192 in Ponterio sale 162 (Hong Kong, August 2011), where it sold for $7768. The catalog description[1] noted, “CHINA. Hunan. 10 Cash, ND (1920). 湖南民國雙旗當十銅元。Finest certified by NGC. NGC鑑定評分最高的一枚。NGC MS-64 BN. Ex: Tracey Woodward Collection. Ex: The Frank Robinson Collection.”
