Honduras 1912 2 centavos
This specimen was lot 75533 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $366. The catalog description[1] noted, "HONDURAS. 2 Centavos, 1912. Tegucigalpa Mint. PCGS MS-65 Brown. Variety with 'CENTAVOS'." This is a two centavos of a type struck in Honduras 1910-13. Many two centavos were struck from used ten centavo dies with the denomination crudely recut. This one appears to have been struck from a one centavo die with a "2" punched over the "UN" and an "S" added to "CENTAVO". On some 1912's, no "S" was added to "CENTAVO". The denomination was retired in 1920.
Recorded mintage: 70,000 (all varieties).
Specification: 3.5 g, copper, 19.5 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: KM-69.
