Honduras 1899 25 centavos rev DSLR.jpg

This type was struck in 1899-1913, accompanied by similar five, ten, fifty centavos and one pesos. As dies were extensively reused, innumerable varieties exist. For 1899, the SCWC lists 1899/88 and the regular date. This date is listed as common. In 1899, the denomination was reduced from .900 to 0.835 fine, leading to more varieties as many dies engraved "0.900" were simply overstamped "0.835."

Recorded mintage: 30,000 (all varieties).

Specifications: 6.25 g, 0.835 fine silver, 0.167 ASW.

Catalog reference: KM 50 (.900 fine) or KM-50a (.835 fine).
