Sincona sale 83, lot 2903

This specimen was lot 2903 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$335 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "HONDURAS Zentral Amerikanische Republik, Zentral Amerikanische Republik. 1 Real 1844 G, Tegucigalpa. Selten. Sehr schön. Schrötlingsfehler am Rand (Rare, Very fine, Flan flaw on edge)." One reales were struck intermittently using good silver at Tegucigalpa, Honduras, during 1825-32. Various types of debased silver were issued until 1854. All are scarce and rare in nice condition. This type was also struck in 1840.
