One reales were struck intermittently using good silver at Tegucigalpa, Honduras, during 1825-32. Various types of debased silver were issued until 1854. All are scarce and rare in nice condition. This specimen was part of lot 35432 in Heritage sale 3038 (Dallas, January 2015), which sold for $376. The catalog description[1] noted, "Central American Republic Lot of Four Provisional 1 Real Coins 1839 1840 1849 1851, Coins are generally low grade. All come with old Freeman Craig coin tags." Varieties exist in the spelling of "PROVISIONAL."
