This specimen was lot 21618 in Heritage sale 3010 (Boston, August 2010), where it sold for $1,495. The catalog description[1] noted, "Holland. Gold Ducat 1729, MS65 NGC, light original patina, remarkably sharp details and rarely seen in this select grade." This type was struck without change 1702-91 and is priced in the SCWC as a common date. Holland was the largest and wealthiest part of the United Provinces, now the kingdom of the Netherlands.
