This specimen was lot 2652 in Goldberg sale 87 (Los Angeles, September 2015), where it sold for $493.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Netherlands: Holland. Ducat, 1642. Early type. Standing knight. Reverse: Tablet with legend. Striking flat areas. Original mint luster. NGC graded MS-61." Holland, along with several other Dutch provinces, issued gold ducats from the sixteenth century until the termination of the United Provinces by Napoleon in the 1790's.
