This specimen was lot 3669 in Künker Auction 426 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €280 (about US$397 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HOHNSTEIN, GRAFSCHAFT Volkmar Wolfgang, 1562-1582. Reichstaler 1579, Ellrich. Ausbeute der Grube St. Andreas. Winz. Bearbeitungsstelle am Rand, sehr schön +. (county of Hohnstein, Volkmar Wolfgang, 1562-82, thaler of 1571, Ellrich mint, for the St. Andrew mine. Minor tooling on the edge, very fine or better.)"
The county of Hohnstein was a minor state, neighbor of Stolberg, Eichsfeld and Schwarzburg. It was later partitioned between Hannover and Prussia. This type is noted for 1571-80, all with two digit dates. It is rather scarce in collectible condition.
