Hohenlohe-Waldenburg-Schillingsfurst 1768-SNR kreuzer
This specimen was lot 921 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €130 (about US$175 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HOHENLOHE, HOHENLOHE-SCHILLINGSFÜRST, GRAFSCHAFT, Karl Albrecht, 1750-1793. Kreuzer 1768, Nürnberg. Stempelglanz Exemplar der Slg. Bernhard Terletzki. Erworben im März 1993 bei der Firma Fritz Rudolf Künker, Osnabrück. (Germany, county of Hohenlohe-Schillingsfurst, Charles Albrecht, 1750-93, one kreuzer of 1768, Nuremberg mint. Uncirculated example from the Bernhard Terletzki collection.)"
A few billon and silver coins represent the entire eighteenth century coinage of this tiny state, which was promoted from county to principality in 1744 and mediatized in 1806.
