Hannover 1833-B 2-1/2 thaler Fr-1167
This specimen was lot 241 in Sincona Auction 103 (Zürich, May 2026), where it sold for 850 CHF (about US$1,296 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND Braunschweig-Lüneburg-Calenberg-Hannover. Wilhelm IV. 1830-1837. 2 1/2 Taler 1833 B, Hannover. (Germany, kingdom of Hannover, William IV, 1830-37, 2½ thaler of 1833, Hannover mint. NGC AU58.)"
This type was struck 1832, 1833, 1835. The kingdom of Hannover was the old duchy of Brunswick-Luneburg prior to the Napoleonic invasions. It was separated from the British crown on William's death and absorbed by Prussia in 1866.
Recorded mintage: unknown but rare.
