This specimen was lot 2939 in Steve Album Auction 53 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $156. The catalog description[1] noted, "HANAU-MÜNZENBERG: Philipp Moritz, 1612-1638, AR 3 kreuzer, Hanau, 1614, an attractive lustrous example, PCGS graded AU55, ex Joe Sedillot Collection." This type was struck 1612-19 and has a modest catalog value. We have filed this under Hesse-Cassel as that is the state which annexed the county on the extinction of the dynasty.
