This specimen was lot 3244 in Sincona sale 43 (Zürich, October 2017), where it sold for 350 CHF (about US$418 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Hamburg, Hansestadt, 20 Mark 1899 J. Hamburg. Gutes vorzüglich. (free city of Hamburg, twenty mark of 1899, Hamburg mint. Good extremely fine.)"
This type is common and was struck 1893-1913.
Recorded mintage: 1,002,000, a common date.
Specification: 7.96 g, 0.900 fine gold, .230 troy oz AGW, this specimen 7.94 g.
