Haiti 1807 7 sols 6 deniers
This specimen was lot 29849 in Heritage sale 3037 (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $2,937.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Henry Christopher State of Haiti 7 Sols 6 Deniers 1807 XF45 NGC, Cap Haitien mint. Nice Extremely Fine and most attractive since showing bold features, a clear date and an attractive darker tone. A very scarce or rare type, much more elusive than the 15 Sols, rarely found in even presentable grades. Remarkably well-preserved and among the finest seen by the cataloger, the present specimen represents a truly special opportunity to secure an attractive representative of this very crude local issue. Specialists of this fascinating series will undoubtedly recognize it as such and we expect strong bidding on this little jewel." Fifteen and thirty sols also exist, the thirty sols being very rare.
