This specimen was lot 537 in Sincona sale 89 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 1,300 CHF (about US$1,718 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BELGIEN Hainaut, Grafschaft, Jean II. d'Avêsnes, 1280-1304. 2/3 Gros o. J., Valenciennes. Selten. Vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Auctiones AG 26, Basel, September 1996, Los 1571. (Belgium, county of Hainaut, John II of Avesnes, 1280-1304, undated two-thirds groat, Valenciennes mint. Rare, Extremely fine.)"
Jean II d'Avêsnes was count of Hainaut 1280-1304 and count of Holland 1299-1304.
