This specimen was lot 45066 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Gwalior. 1/4 Anna, VS 1986 (1929). NGC MS-65 Red Brown. The 'pug nose' type, struck on a thick planchet. A lovely coin with bold strike, needle-sharp design detail, and blazing dark red mint luster over much of the surfaces." This quarter anna comes in various varieties and with thick or thin planchet. Jivaji Rao ruled 1925-48 and struck quarter and half annas.
