This specimen was lot 2490 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "GWALIOR: RAJOD: Jayaji Rao, 1843-1886, AE paisa, Rajod, VS1940, Hanuman running right, holding what resembles a spear, snake to right, superb VF, R." The Vikram Samvat calendar is 57 years ahead of the AD date altho it starts in April rather than January 1. Confusingly, the SCWC lists this type of VS 1936 and 1940 under Daulat Rao (r. 1794-1827).
