This specimen was lot 32521 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2024), where it sold for $45. The catalog description[1] noted, "GUERNSEY. 2 Doubles, 1885-H. Birmingham (Heaton) Mint. PCGS MS-64 Red Brown. A pleasing near-Gem, with rich retained mostly red surfaces, and crisply applied details." This type was struck 1868, 1874, 1885-H, 1889-H, 1902-H, 1903-H, 1906-H, 1908-H and 1911-H at the Heaton mint for Guernsey, one of the Channel Islands. Two doubles = farthing. A few proofs exist struck in bronze plated copper.
