The first specimen was lot 74247 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted, "GUATEMALA. 25 Centavos, 1950. NGC MS-66. A semi-key date for the type. A flashy, prooflike coin, nearly blast white with frosty obverse devices." This type was struck 1950-59 and most dates are common altho the 1950 is slightly scarce. Guatemala closed her mint in the 1920's, so this was probably made in London or Mexico City.

Recorded mintage: 81,000.

Specification: 8.33 g, 0.720 fine silver, 27 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM-258.
