This specimen was lot 87 in Aureo & Calicó sale 238 (Barcelona, November 2011), where it sold for 360 euro (about US$571 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"1798. Guatemala. M. 8 reales. Pátina irregular. Escasa. EBC-. (eight reales of 1798, Guatemala mottled toning, scarce,about extremely fine.)"
This coin shows the standard bust of Charles IV as used throughout Latin America 1791-1808. This date is scarce but not rare like 1790-91.
