Aureo sale 238, lot 77

This specimen was lot 77 in Aureo & Calicó sale 238 (Barcelona, November 2011), where it sold for 750 euro (about US$1,189 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"1777. Guatemala. P. 8 reales. Leves rayitas. Buen ejemplar. Rara. MBC+. (eight reales of 1777, Guatemala mint, light scratches, nice example, rare, choice very fine.)"

For Guatemala, the bust dollars of Charles III are considerably rarer than the pillar dollars, tho 1777 is noted as the most available date.
