Stack's Bowers May 2023 Collector's Choice sale, lot 72488

This specimen was lot 72488 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2023), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 10 Pounds (5 Ounces), 2015. Llantrisant Mint. Elizabeth II. PCGS PROOF-68 Deep Cameo. One of the first 650 struck. Featuring the nautical design of Britannia, this entrancing specimen offers frosted argent devices and immensely mirrored fields." This NCLT is one from the Britannia series of silver and gold bullion coins which started in 1987. The Britannia series has been minted steadily altho never attaining the popularity of the Mexican Libertad, the American silver eagle or the Canadian Maple Leaf.

Specification: 155.5 g, 0.999 fine silver, 65 mm diameter, 5 troy oz ASW.
